March 13, 20197 yr Hi, I successfully install the RXP portion of the installer to my X-Plane folder, however, the Garmin Trainer installer won't complete. After I tick which trainers I want to install, and press next past the folders it's going to install to, I get the following error: Access is denied. Error Code: 0x80070005 When I click exit, the setup sends a message "The Garmin Trainer installer returned code is: 1603". I've tried opening the backup folder and running the installer as Admin with the same results again. Not sure what else to do.
March 14, 20197 yr Hi, Well access denied means it: you are telling the Garmin trainer installer to copy its files to a location your user account can't access. I'll also advise not installing 'as-admin' which will further breaks things later on. Can you please tell which folder do you try to install it to? Have you tried just installing in the default folders?

Have you tried just installing in the default folders? Well - I could understand that if I was trying to install it into some system folders. I’m simply trying to install it into the default folder it tries to put it in. I’ve also tried to put them in custom folders on my desktop, all of which return the same error. I’ve tried just installing the GTN trainer, the GTN sand TXi, all of them - no different result. 😞 EDIT: I shutdown my computer last night after it completed some Windows updates, retried the Garmin installer from the C:\ProgramData backup file made from the RXP installer and it seems to be going through the trainer database download now. Will update when/if it completes. EDIT: Seems to be working now. Thanks. Edited March 14, 20197 yr by FliteDispatch
