QW787 Autopilot problems...

Featured Replies

So, hello everyone, I just got the QW787 and I can't seem to engage the Autopilot, NOTE: I have only done a joyride, by that I mean I spawned it on a runway, already started and just took off without any FMC programming, when I set the A/P for 10000ft 2500 ft/m and 240kts, but nothing engaged, the A/P light turns on, but NOTHING engages, any fix?

Thanks in advance!

The AP cannot be engaged without a flight plan.  Make a simply flight plan.  See page 12, QW Quick Start Guide.  You can also try a freeflight with no flightplan and just fly around a little and, when you want to land, pick an airport nearby and descend to any of the runways and manually land.  There is no NAV1 or NAV2 on complicated aircraft so manual lands are the only way as you cannot enter the Runway frequencies.  The guides are amazingly simple and provide a step by step instructions for setting up the FMC so you can take off as quickly as possible.  You can fly around without the AP engaged but you will have to stay near the magenta link in the flight display and before the next waypoint but it is best to just try a flight using the simple flight plan.
