Issue with ATC Chatter using Country Folders

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm using Pilot2ATC and X-ATC-Chatter together on x-plane for ATC chatter while flying. Recently I decided to do a ferry flight from NA to EU and wanted to use country codes in order to create more realism of ATC Chatter playback. For some reason I can't seem to get it to work. I've set up folders inside of the Pilot2ATC Sounds\ATC_Chatter\ folder as described in the user guide.

An example of the folder structure I am using is:

  • Sounds
    • ATC_Chatter
      • EB
        • Controllers
          • App
          • Clr
          • Ctr
      • ED
      • EE
      • EF
      • EK
      • US
        • K1
        • K2
        • K3
          • Controllers
            • App
            • Clr
            • Ctr

With this format, I have copied the Controllers folder with all of the subfolders and inside of the subfolders are the chatter files. When loading Pilot2ATC, I can see in the logs that it is only showing the following:

Ctr ChatterFolder: C:\Pilot2ATC_2018_x64\Sounds\ATC_Chatter\Ctr

Any idea what I'm doing wrong with using Country folders instead of using the Controller folders?

Thanks for any input.

The App, Clr, Ctr, etc folder should be directly under the Country Folder EB, or K3.  There are no "Controllers" folders for the Country Folders setup.  Details on page 106-7 of Users Guide.

Also, be sure to check the Country Folders as t he option on the setup page in P2A.

Hope that helps,

Dave

Dave, appreciate the reply. Moving the App, Clr, Ctr, etc folders out of controllers and in to the root of each country code fixed the issue.

Hi Dave. Sorry for opening up an old thread, but is it possible to make folders a bit more generic. For instance, E for northern Europe, L for southern Europe, etc? Especially for the many countries that I have no specific ATC for, it is a but overwhelming to have to copy all of that around to each country folder.

The Controller Folders option uses regions as set by the X-ATC-Chatter program.  Europe is a single region, but using that format for your sound files should work, you just wouldn't have the E vs L granularity.
