Wettergerat (weather app)

Featured Replies

Probably a bit slow but I just realized that if you download and use this app from flight-sim.org you can import weather from a place and then change all the variables. If you save that mcf file then whatever you have set up will be the current weather for anywhere you choose to fly. I imported the weather for Denver, fiddled with the clouds and visibility and it was just the same in Kathmandu! What a great add on.  😊

Being the developer of the Aerofly Wettergerät, I was very much inspired by the way X-Plane handles weather. Sadly the Wettergerät does not (yet) handle weather as seamlessly as its source of inspiration, but contains the following features:

  • Change values not accessible via the regular Aerofly FS 2 configuration (e.g. date, excessive wind speed, extra cloud layer)
  • Read last flightplan from Aerofly FS2, and get weather for the departure or destination airport
  • Save weather data for later (e.g. to save your favourite hurricane or foggy landing)

Because of missing APIs the Wettergerät is still not able to modify the weather while the simulation is running (also community developers are still asking for more Aerofly APIs) - until now, the Wettergerät is only able to modify the weather in Aerofly FS2 before starting the simulation. This is rather unfortunate, as all required programming to do so has already been completed, but for the missing API adapter.
