February 21, 200620 yr Author At the risk of violating the "simple it ain't" rule, I don't think it is that big a deal. For any given gauge, there is an area where, if you leave the mouse in it the tool tip shows up. Same thing with an airport. I'm imagining that there is a map file on scenery just like I'm imagining there is for a vc cockpit, so, if you move your mouse around near where an airport is, you'll see the tooltip eventually. I wouldn't make it the whole airport, but I'm not stuck on the tower idea, could be an area of diameter 100 yards up to an altitude of 100 ft centered on the reference point of an airport.Of course, the real problem is you usually need this data before you can see the airport. But, I originally thought of using it in the top down view anyway, which negates this issue cause you can zoom out. It's quicker to access this view than it is to access the map (Ctrl-S), and the sim doesn't pause when you do it.And hence the further idea about mapping the flightplan and perhaps other aspects such as high/low altitude routes/intersections, etc. into the top-down view. 'Course, what the heck is the map view for then. I think I'm just thinking it's another way to help the user process the data.Could be pushed further, kind of like the 3-D view that some GPS's use. Imagine pushing a button and the view rotates from map view to 3-D view similar to the GPS's. I can extend this in my imagination in lots of ways into the FS interface, be it the map or the regular view or top-down view, etc..But I'm also not pushing really hard for this functionality either. Seems a bit like fluff to me. But it's cool thinking about it :)Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry
