July 24, 20196 yr Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing an airspeed/autopilot bug with the new virtualcol A220 in P3D? If I don't use the AP, it's a fairly normal flight model with normal stall speeds and power/throttle settings. For example, I can easily maintain level flight/altitude at 130kts at FL020 with flaps 3 and gear down. However, there appear to be random scenarios where the flight characteristics change drastically, including extreme airspeed fluctuations, stall speed randomly increasing to over 200kts and/or suddenly requiring 75% or more power even with full flaps just to maintain level flight, all at low altitude. This happens even when everything in realism is pretty much disabled. The scenarios that seem to trigger this most involve using any part of the autopilot and then turning it off and hand flying, which suddenly causes extreme airspeed fluctuations and almost immediate stall even at high speed if the power settings are altered at all. I've been testing this model all week and comparing it to my Aerosoft A319/20 and I'm confident it's not a broader problem with my computer or P3D. Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue...
July 24, 20196 yr I fly the A220 quite often (and love it!), and I have never experienced what you describe. Hope you are able to get it straightened out! July 24, 20196 yr Author Thanks Russ, I don't understand why this is such a problem for me. It only appears to be an issue with the virtualcol A220; I have other virtualcol aircraft plus aerosoft and project airbus models and no other aircraft exhibit this behaviour.
