July 25, 20196 yr The tri pacer out of Napa County airport. An older pilot we knew, who talked to us in Napa County Airport's restaurant often, was a Tri Pacer owner. ATC comms were heard in the restaurant, and outside by the observation deck. We were amused when the Tower approved him for a taxiway takeoff, to the southwest, so he could have the best winds for takeoff. He was off the ground in the shortest distance I had ever seen, even shorter than the LSA's I have flown, except for trikes. He then climbed like a rocket, and did some touch n' goes.... Although this model has no autopilot, keyboard commands can be slaved to heading, altitude and gps hold and the aircraft handles quite well on autopilot, just to take the boredom out of long in flight hauls... July 28, 20196 yr I like this plane a lot, John, I have LHC's Tri-Pacer, and do fly it often for VFR. It's also good that you've included, here, versions both with and without wheel-pants...! Nice pictures...!
