August 3, 20196 yr Flying Ant's great payware LSA, a very nicely priced 152 style aircraft, but in the LSA category. This flight was from Santa Rosa, CA in Sonoma county down to the San Jose metro area, which is quite nice for the Bay mudflats, San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose scenery.... Ant's aircraft default GPS is a Garmin 296, all one needs in an LSA.... John Edited August 3, 20196 yr by John_Cillis
August 3, 20196 yr Ant's make some really good planes...I now recall flying their T-28 Trojan, just a short while ago.... Here, the comparison to C-152 does seem apt...and, nice pictures from this long flight!

The FAA is considering changes to Light Sport, to allow for heavier aircraft like the 152, in part because we LSA pilots complain that LSA prices for aircraft like the Tecnam are sky high, while there is still a safe and good inventory of used 152's and other trainers out there. Time will tell if the LSA rule is amended, since it took a long time for it to be created. John
August 4, 20196 yr Interesting points about the regulation and rules involved for LSAs, John. The LSAs have always fascinated me...primarily because they can be in the so-called category of "Do-it-Yourself" or "Amateur-built" aircraft...quite different from GA aircraft! Of course, as you say, I would rather fly (hypothetically) a well-maintained C-152 than an LSA built by myself...🙂...!
