I may be off here but 70% to dev / 30% to MS split sounds like a smokin good deal if MS handles the downloads and bandwidth / receivables / marketplace / marketing / security etc. etc.

Developers handle support for their products, cashes the check and pays their taxes. Any marketing and anything else they do beyond that on them.

In my line of work if an employer offers you a 70/30 split of profit and you have a solid book of business that's a great deal when all you have to deal with is covering your business.

It is after all MS's product that allows developers to prosper. It is also the developers that give the sim longevity and marketability without a doubt.

Two way street, either one can't succeed without the other. In it's base default form FS9, FSX and P3D and XPlane to some extent would be dead and gone.

Exactly...

This is how google does it (70% / 30%) for the their android DEVS to sell apps through the playstore, but app DEVS still have to implement additional security measures as hackers have become more savvy to ghost sales from google for in-app purchases.

I think that MS is looking at how FSX sells for $25 with now over $5k in addons on steam. As the MSFS base grows, a 70 / 30 split could be a huge payoff for both sides.
