January 14, 200620 yr I read one of the MSFS programmers "blogs" the other day and took notice that they mentioned the importance of immersion versus something like a gauge detail or something like that.I agree totally [payware devs can make just about any gauge!) and appreciate what I see in the first announcement of FSX with attention to immersion detail. Now it's probably too late to make any further idea suggestions for FSX but at least we know these threads are being watched in some fashion - so what the heck!Actually looks like a few things ARE in the next version but please have a read on one of my older posts, oh and if some payware guru can make something like this happen all the power to you!http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=275692&page=Thanks for reading!
January 14, 200620 yr A reaction or two from the post linked above:"... uses the basic effects files and RANDOMIZES where these fires/SMOKE are at, plop in the BGL's and then go flying? This gives a sense of never seeing the same thing twice, where one wouldn't expect to see it twice."There are some random effects already enabled (I believe they're just not prevalent enough): Steam and smoke from chimneys, the aurora, shooting stars. Hopefully they'll be more noticed in future. As for forest/wildfires, it's been discussed. Would be pretty easy for someone to do an add-on..."...why not random SHIPS (that move or don't move doesn't matter to me!), BIRDS, sailboats, think about it."Hmmm... :) take a look at the screens again."Quit messing around with CD's and let us have it- full data blast via DVD and blow us away with so much data we won't know what to do with Okay so not everyone has DVD players yet"Okay."...Ships, more ships! We spend a lot of time flying over water when going "across the pond". Give us more to look at if we can even see it through those new cool cloud variations Trains, cars, just some things to let us know there is sim life down there doing their thing."See two comments above. All this stuff (and more!)is stuff we talk about and try to build. Keep looking out for screens and announcements over the next few months...Cheers,jason
