I think FSX looks fantastic!

Featured Replies

Am I the only one? I haven't really gotten into any of the discussions about FSX, even before it was announced as I'm not one to speculate or like another poster said "assume." But after reading some of the discussions here I just have to say that just from these early screenshots that we've seen (and the video) so far, I really think FSX looks amazing. First, those clouds in the shot "fsx30" wow! The birds, the vehicles, the trees, the ground textures, the water, the wet concrete effect, and on and on all look really great. So far, to me at least FSX looks like a major upgrade and as other people have pointed out, it's still a ways off and we still don't know what other features it will include. Thanks,Jeff

I must say I am pleased with the ground textures. Landclass while it isn't satalite imagery, looks fairly nice. Mountains are pretty realistic. These are things I am not sure of though.1. When I am climbing up will the sky turn darker as I am going higher? (While those were good screenshots, notice there were no high altitude flying in any of those yet).2. Will visibility corespond with sky color with clouds etc? What I mean is this: If you have no clouds to a few clouds you will want either smog or light blue haze at the horizon. When the clouds are overcast you will want the grey haze.3. Will there be graduated visiblity as you are climbing instead of the sudden you are in the visibility and then you pop out and everything is clear for miles?4. Will overcast skies obscure the sun so there wouldn't be any sunlight on objects?5. How many detail airports are there in this sim?6. I hope ATC will be more realistic.7. What do the thunderstorms look like in this sim? Can you group them together and create tornadoes, or hurricanes?8. How can I create my own local weather? Will it be the same as in fs9 or totally new?9. Now on to navigation. Will there be a fully operating FMS and a weather radar?10. Landclass errors. I would like to see improvements on this, especially with snow in areas like in fs9 has snow in Vegas. I hope this will be a desert arid region even in the winter.
