Reloaded the FeelThere ERJ yesterday which doesn't have an auto throttle and it reminded me of an issue that I have with both my Saitek TPM and throttle quadrant.

The issue is that at certain points in the travel both seem to create non-linear jumps in engine thrust.

This makes holding a consistent speed virtually impossible since even the slightness movement at certain points can cause several tenths of a percent of a jump.

I use FSUIPC and have the spike checkbox checked, but it doesn't seem to help.

My question is, to other flyers of non-autopilot aircraft such as the ERJ, CRJ, etc. have you found a throttle that doesn't do this?

Thanks,
Ernie.

I usually cycle all the levers (especially the throttle) quickly to "loosen them up".

There is a thread somewhere here that has a few others using this same procedure, and it works for them too.
