AILGenerator not reading airline codes

Recommended Posts

Nico,

I have made changes to some aircraft.cfg files to correct atc_airline codes but it seems AILG is not reading them.

For fltsim.0 in the spoiler below, AILG writes: livery airline="AAL" type="CRJ1" folder="1" cargo="false" title="AIGAIM_American Eagle Bombardier CRJ-100 - opb Skywest" />

I would think AILG should write SKW instead of AAL...as a matter of fact, I can't even figure out how AILG knows to write AAL?

Here is an example:

Spoiler

[fltsim.0]
title=AIGAIM_American Eagle Bombardier CRJ-100 - opb Skywest
sim=AIM CRJ-200
model=
texture=AALX-American Eagle_opb Skywest
atc_airline=SKW
atc_parking_types=GATE
atc_parking_codes=AALX
ui_type=Bombardier CRJ-100

[fltsim.1]
title=AIGAIM_Air Canada Express Bombardier CRJ-100 - OC opb Air Georgian (TEMP)
sim=AIM CRJ-200
model=
texture=ACAX-Air Canada Express_OC opb Air Georgian_temp
atc_airline=GGN
atc_parking_types=GATE
atc_parking_codes=ACAX,GGN
ui_type=Bombardier CRJ-100
description=AIM_CRJ-100(p3dv4)

[fltsim.2]
title=AIGAIM_Delta Connection Bombardier CRJ-100 - opb Skywest Airlines
sim=AIM CRJ-200
model=
texture=DALX-Delta Connection_opb Skywest Airlines
atc_airline=SKW
atc_parking_types=GATE
atc_parking_codes=DALX
ui_type=Bombardier CRJ-100

[General]
atc_type=Canadair
atc_model=CRJ1
editable=1
performance=Only experienced AI pilots should attempt to fly this aircraft.
Category=airplane

So I end up with missing liveries in PSXseecontraffic:

Spoiler

The missing liveries were for the following airlines and type codes:
  AAL B789
  AAR B772
  ASQ E145
  ASQ E45X

  CSN B77L
  EDV CRJ9
  ENY CRJ7
  ENY E135
  ENY E145
  ENY E75L
  KAP C402
  LOT B789
  QFA B748
  RPA E170
  SKW CRJ2
  SKW CRJ7

AILG does not read the key atc_airline=

It uses the key atc_parking_codes= to detect the ICAO airline code(s).

It is all described in the AILG Manual, section 3.4 How are liveries detected?

In your example you should write

atc_parking_codes=-AAL,SKW

and if you are editing you better add the registration code by adding the key atc_id=  too.

I've read the matching information in the PSX manual till my eyes are bloodshot, but am yet to be able to fully understand it.

"In your example you should write

atc_parking_codes=-AAL,SKW

and if you are editing you better add the registration code by adding the key atc_id=  too."

Will your suggestion for the parking codes cause PSX to select an appropriate regional livery when RealTraffic data contains airline data for regionals, such as SKW?

I am using AIG liveries but don't have liveries for every registration code. It seems AIG uses a single livery for many different registrations (there is no atc_id= in the flightsim.x entries)

How ypur installed liveries are detected is described in the AILG Manual, not in the PSXT Manual. The PSXT  Manual describes the matching between RealTraffic data and your liveries.

@Your question: yes it will, if it uses the SKW code in the real traffic data.

You can add the line atc_id yourself, no problem. You can find the registration code with a model viewer program such as AI-Aircraft Editor if the code is nor somewhere in the fltsim section.

You may add more than one  registration code in the atc_id line including ones with wild cards, see the AILG Manual for examples.
