P3D V4.5 H2 Shimmering of Objects in Distance

Featured Replies

Is it just me or could it be that there is shimmering in distance, especially on Autogen and Airports (also custom)? It seems to me everything non PBR is a little bit jaggier (like FSAA/SSAA/MSAA reduced in distance). Especially in VR  (Reverb) it is good noticeable. Could you guys give some feedback? I have a 4K Monitor and even there is it noticeable. I tried with default shaders and with Envshade Shaders. Nothing worked to reduce it. But PBR and SSAA is a lot better. This is especially on NON PBR Objects. Regards Marcus

NOTE: Installed all components!. Daytime-Flying, 4xSSAA or upwards; 4096x4096 Textures, High Res Textures, FSAA on or OFF, nothing seems to help. Tested also on PMDG, TOP View just above the plne, look at the wings from the top and you will notice the jaggies on the wings textures for instance. How further away, how worser it becomes. With 4.5 HF1 I had much sharper textures.

it's impossible as a software dev to fully create a 100% bug free product unless we go back in time to the 90's boxed versions👍😅

No shimmers here with HF2 ... perhaps you can provide a video of what you see?

Cheers, Rob.

I will do a new install of the scenery part this days. Maybe something got corrupted on download. But flying a 35000ft and looking to the ground I clearly see pixelated or unsharp scenery and objects. It is not much but in vr It is good noticable. Thanks for your feeeback. Regards Marcus
