Reducing AI Traffic

Featured Replies

Hello All, I've search the forum for this topic and have not been able to find it, so I apologize if it's been asked before. Is there a tutorial that explains how to reduce the amount of AI traffic at a particular airport, i.e. KATL etc.? I have downloaded AFCAD2 and TTools but they are unclear (to me at least) on how to do this, if it is at all possible. I'm not sure if I need to alter the AFCAD for a particular airport or adjust certain flight plans with TTools. I'm not that computer savy so either of these two utilities may very well address this issue and I'm just not getting it. I originally had Ultimate Traffic installed, but uninstalled it after a friend made an AI package for me that included better aircraft models from PAI, Aardvark, and Evolve etc. I would appreciate any help anyone can offer with this. In AFCAD2, you can remove some parking spots. That would reduce ground traffic from spawning. In FS9, turn the Traffic Slider down, that will reduce in flight traffic.

Reducing the number of parking spaces will cause stutters as FS tries to park AI aircraft and has to loop continually through the parking process many extra cycles for each aircraft.Lowering the AI slider will work - provided your friend randomized the AI flight plans he used to make the AI.Most available AI flightplans have the AI traffic set at 1% for every flight. That makes the AI slider useless - because it is the % in the individual flightplan which FS uses.If all of your flightplans are at 1%, then you only have two AI options - All or None.

Thanks everyone for your input.
