  1. Love your scenery, my vote is for Richmond, Va. KRIC also. Old scenery is nice but the Terminal has been completely rebuilt in the last 3 years. Would love for you to consider it.
  2. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem. When I open FS9, the little box comes up that reads; “Building New Scenery Database Files” even though I’ve added no new scenery files. I’m used to it coming up if I’ve added or deleted scenery, but it shows up every time I open FS9 now. Just started doing this recently. Has anyone experienced this before? Just wondering why it’s showing up now.
  3. Thanks for you answer. I'll leave well enough alone. :-)
  4. forgive my ignorance, but is this patch only for 64 bit machines?
  5. In trying to solve the problem, I went through all kinds of fixes. I ran a full virus scan, scanned for malware, set aand reset user privilages, made sure the FS9 file was in the proper "documents and Settings" file etc. I also uninstalled IE 8 and reinstalled it thinking that a security update may have been the culprit. My final attempt was the uncheck "read only" box. What I'm trying to say is that anyone of the previously mentioned steps may have solved the problem or contributed to it's solution, I'm just not sure. I only know the last thing I tried was the "read only" thing. I hope you get it solved because I know how frustrating it can get when it doesn't work right.
  6. After much trial and error I was able to finally get FS9 to open and load. I unchecked the attributes of the config. file from "Read Only" and it loaded the way it did before I had the problem. Hope this helps anyone who runs across this problem.
  7. Tried to start FS9 after a few months of non use and got the following error message; "FS cannot run from a restricted user account and will now close. Please log on using an administrative account and restart." I don't know what prompted this because I'm listed as the Administrator on my computer and no one else uses it. I'm running FS9 on Windows XP with sp3. If anyone has had this problem or know of a fix please post a reply. Bill
  8. I've tried FS Autostop and found Game Booster to be a lot easier to use. Framerates don't improve that much but the sim seems to run smoother. I'll take a look at GBoost.
  9. Thanks everyone for your replies. Haven't decided what I'm going to do yet.
  10. Just a quick question. I'm using version 1.6 of Gamebooster because several forum members said that the version after that actually used as many resources as it was supposed to free up, in their opinion. I was wondering if anyone knew if the lastest update was any better. Each time I open the program it says that an update is available but I've been reluctant to download it. Would welcome any opinions on this topic. Bill
  11. I learned a trick from someone here on the forum. Set your altitiude 200 ft. higher then the assigned altitude so the aircraft won't start to level off before to get the instruction, ie: if your assigned altitude is 8,000 ft. I set it for 8,200ft, that allows me to get the next assigned altitude before the aircraft starts to level out. works for me.
  12. Thanks Echofox, that's just what I needed.
  13. Two quick questions. does anyone know where I can download a Manual/Checklist for the Boeing 767-200? I've just downloaded the model by IFDG. If not, does anyone know if the parameters are close to those of the Boeing 747? That seems to be the only Manual/ Checklist I could find to download. Thanks in adavance for any replies.
  14. Thanks for your quick response, I had that program downloaded but had never used it. Got it to open just fine. Thanks again.
  15. Does anyone know how to open an AFCAD file for an airport that isn't in the regular AF2 bgl format, but instead is listed as AFX_KJFK bgl. This is the AFCAD that came with the FRF-KJFKv7 scenery. When I try and open it with the AFCAD program to check the parking assignments, it causes the program to crash with an error message. If this isn't the right program to open this type of file, can someone point me in the right direction for opening this file. Thanks in advance for any help Bill
  16. I use Ultimate Night Environment in conjunction with Ultimate Terrain USA, it's very good also.
  17. I use Ultimate Night Environment and Ultimate Terrain light options also, think it's great.
  18. Said on the website that it would be out by 2200 or 2300 Eastern Time tonight.
  19. I certainly echo OPA's last post!!! That's great news.
  20. David, I didn't see the specific file you were talking about but I did see a wav file named "click". Could this be the one you were talking about?
  21. Here's a website I use sometimes. Ues the Travel Tools to search by Airport. You can also refine the search by airline (both arrival and Departure) and they will usually give you a gate number. http://www.flightstats.com/go/Home/home.do
  22. Thanks for all the replies. Colin, that's a good observation and something I should have thought of. I've paid particular attention on my last two flights and I noticed that my initial decent always starts at the time the FS Nav Log estimates as the time of the flight.
  23. Thanks a bunch!!
  24. Thanks for your reply, I was refering to the Estimated Flight Time indicated at the top of the image provided in the attached link. URL=http://img205.imageshack.us/i/screenhunter1h.png/][/url]
  25. A rather simple question but one I've wondered about. In FS9 when using the Flight Planner, is the flight time in the log the actual estimated flight time or does it build in the time it takes to taxi in and out? I just wondered because I must be doing something wrong, it always takes me longer than what the Flight Planner says. I don't use FS Passenger so there's no one to get upset with me. :( Doesn't really bother me, I was just wondering.
