Problem with AFCAD

Featured Replies

Does anyone know how to open an AFCAD file for an airport that isn't in the regular AF2 bgl format, but instead is listed as AFX_KJFK bgl. This is the AFCAD that came with the FRF-KJFKv7 scenery. When I try and open it with the AFCAD program to check the parking assignments, it causes the program to crash with an error message. If this isn't the right program to open this type of file, can someone point me in the right direction for opening this file. Thanks in advance for any help Bill

It´s an AFX file, so you have to use the Airport Design Editor. It´s a freeware utility made mainly for FSX and does the same as AFCAD does for FS9, but in it´s current version you can use it instaed of AFCAD.Get it from here http://www.airportdesigneditor.co.uk/

Thanks for your quick response, I had that program downloaded but had never used it. Got it to open just fine. Thanks again.

AFX files are actually created by AFX, so you don't "have" to use ADE. But ADE should be capable of opening AF2, AFX and its own ADE files so it is a good choice.John
