October 17, 20196 yr I'm sure many users will be looking forward to using the coming sim in a multiplayer platform like PilotEdge, VATSIM, IVAO etc. I personally use PilotEdge and one thing that I really like about Xplane11 and PE is that there are functions that add to the realism via in and out data. As an example, on the Comm radio when using the GTN series, when I key the mic to talk to ATC the Tx lights up and Rx lights up when others are talking. Thats a huge help in troubleshooting if a radio is working or not. The ability to assign a hot key or hardware button to "Ident" is also a big deal since the PE controllers often ask to Ident. Having a button to press or to have the ability for the Ident button on the VC radio to work would be highly welcomed. Being able to assign a key for Push To Talk would be key to have. Especially if it could be done in the system settings and not relying on exterior developers. Having a working transponder knob that controls off, on, standby etc would be great as well as volume knobs for the different comm radios. I went flying in a friends SR22 and two features that his plane has is when listening to both Comms the sound is put in different earpieces. So Comm1 might play in the left ear and Comm2 in the right. This is great for being with ATC and monitoring say ATIS. The other feature is this "Play" button which allows for a replay of prior radio transmissions. The sim doesnt need to include this feature but to have the coding there for aircraft and gauge developers to have these tools to use would be great for future development. Once again, all these features are not eye or ear candy items but items that could be used for proper pilot training.
