September 16, 200619 yr I have seen that "flattening an area" adding a flatening line into the scenary.cfg file will solve ground texture and runway/taxiway bleed though flicker problems.I am new to this and don't know where to begin. Is there an easy freeware way to accomplish this or are there some tutorials I can use? I have a few airports that give me problems that I would like to try and solve using the "flatening" method.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

September 16, 200619 yr Author In my experience, SBuilder is the best way to add flattens to FS. It is available here and at http://www.ptsim.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC...s=Sbuilder+2.05, scroll to the bottom of the page and download the three 2.05 updates. When installing it, it is very important that you install it in order, and start the program after each install. First install SB205.zip. Install SCASM 2.96 from http://www.scasm.de/ and properly update SBuilder's ini file. Start SBuilder and make sure it runs. Then install the library pack update. Start the program and make sure it runs. Then install the 2.05rev06 upgrade. And read the installation instructions to make sure it is installed properly. It's a little frustrating to use at first, but once you "get it" it's a GREAT program for scenery design. Also check out this website for making background bitmaps - http://www.ptsim.com/sbuilder/gmaps.aspfind the location. Use the "New Window button and capture the background as a bmp and trim it to size. Use the "boundaries" button, select the displayed text for the boundaries, right mouse button and select copy, then paste that text into a text file of the same name as the background and put the text file with the background bmp file. Then create a "map" in Sbuilder and select the background bmp. it will automatically place and size the background for you.Cool tool.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry
