GNS 530W Error while installing

Featured Replies

Hello All,

I get the following error when I try installing the GNS530W and had no issues with the GTN750.

C:\Usere\Bdubb\Documents\Prepar3D V4 Add-ons\Reality XP

An error occurred while trying to create a file in the destination directory:

Setup was unable to create the directory:

C:\Users\Bdubb\Documnets\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Reality XP

GNS",

Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified.

Click Retry to try again, Ignore to skip this file(not recommended), or Abort to cancel installation.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best regards,

Hi,

This is peculiar especially if the GTN installed ok.

Is there a "Reality GNS" folder already there?

If there is, can you cross check your user account as the correct access rights to write files into it?

In any case, the canonical add-on.xml file is installed in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Reality XP\GNS Simulation\FltSim\64" and you can manually copy it into the "Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Reality XP GNS" folder.

The XML file is also documented in the RXP GNS Manual.

Hi,

Can you confirm up to which folder from the left (C:\) are already present on your hard drive:

"C:\Users\Bdubb\Documents\Prepar3D V4 Add-ons\"

What other folders are in the "Prepar3D V4 Add-ons" folder?

Hi Jean,

SO I did reinstall of P3D V4.5 HF2 and I'm getting the same error.

"C:\Users\Bdubb\Documents\Prepar3D V4 Add-ons\" (Nothing in this folder what so ever.)

Hi,

I'm sorry for the delay with this.

I'm not sure from your answer whether there is the correct folder.

May I assume correctly you DO have the following folder in your drive but it is empty?
"C:\Users\Bdubb\Documents\Prepar3D V4 Add-ons\"

I've also asked you:

I unsure, and if the aforementioned folder is empty, you might want to manually delete the "Prepar3D V4 Add-ons" folder, then, manually re-create it (file explorer, right-click, new folder, copy/paste the folder name to prevent any typing error).

Nevertheless just to make sure, during RXP software installation, are you sure you've selected P3D4 for the simulator you're installing too?
