As such, the best FS performance improvements have been achieved by upgrading the CPU. Improvements in DX and graphics hardware (so far) have traditionally had less impact to FS than improvements in raw CPU power.It is true that the DX10 driver model has less overhead and *should* result in more bandwidth between the application and graphics card. Whether this will result in higher FSX frame rates remains to be seen. The ACES developers have hinted that the benefits of DX10 will probably increase the realism of the sim, not the performance.The DX10 patch is pure speculation. To assume DX10 is going to perform better than DX9 in FSX is somewhat analogous to the dual core vs. single core debate. We all know its more complicated than that.Cheers
