December 16, 20196 yr Hello all I have always run fsx se with no problem for ages now but yesterday I decided to get orbex England I installed it with ease and started the sim but as I spawned at Gatwick I noticed these black spots on the roads and lights. i have tried everything from deleting all road lights to uninstalling orbex completely but nothing has worked I noticed other forums talked about dx10 or dx9 which I have never Installed before any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Josh
December 16, 20196 yr This is caused by running FSX in Preview Direct X 10 mode. This is the answer to be found at the Orbx Support forums. Quote The black squares are FTX lighting which is not compatible with the FSX Preview Direct X 10 mode. There are three choices: 1. Untick the Preview Direct X 10 box in Display Settings and run the simulator in Direct X 9 mode. 2. Continue to use the Preview Direct X 10 mode and download and install the freeware fix to be found at the Avsim Library, file name shader_release_v3.2.3.zip 3. Continue to use the Preview Direct X 10 mode and purchase the payware Direct X 10 fixer from here
