October 8, 200619 yr Title says it all, my autogen bridges lack textures. I might get a side or two of a bridge but the roaddeck and the supports are dead white. The bridges im talking about are in the Worcester, MA area to the east of Worcester airport. Any suggestions?
October 8, 200619 yr Not sure what the issue might be but these are 2 bridges I found east of Worcester. One bridge close, one in the distance...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/158088.jpgThis one actually has traffic on ithttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/158089.jpgMy sliders are maxed out. You could try that. Are you seeing this issue anywhere else or just in that area?Dave
October 9, 200619 yr Author i envy you and your system, i wish mine could look that! But yup those are them. It everywhere, anything autogen in relation to roads....bridges or overpasses. They do appear at night though, i'll dig alittle more but its those daytime textures that dont make it. They are just missing everywhere, odd. Thanks for posting those shots though, looks awesome!
October 9, 200619 yr Author Update.....It seems that it is only the daytime texture that is missing. This also goes for my taxiway signs as well. I was flying at all time of day and they all work, but as i was flying in the morning i was watching the bridge and the clock hit 6:58am eastern local time i watched a new set of textures load over the landscape and my bridges went white. The taxi way signs also are missing their textures. Could this be a bad install or what? I maxed out everything but cant do a thing. Here's my specs in case it makes a differenceAMD 3000geforce FX56001 gig ram.
October 10, 200619 yr I have a similar problem in the demo (version 2) with the taxiway signs and I also have the FX5600 graphics card - I enabled shader 2.0 (temporarily) in the display.cfg and the problem went away but frame rates drop to unuseable levels. Other than that I haven't found a solution yet - the texture for the taxiway signs seems to be exactly the same as FS9 and I couldn't find a night texture (it possibly uses the same texture). Sorry I couldn't be more help.Chris
October 10, 200619 yr Author Hmmmmm well at least im not the only one. I downloaded the latest drivers to from Nvidia the other day just to make sure. Now im not using 2.0, i have water set to zero. Or is there another way to enable the shader 2 on our cards just to check it out. Otherwise i might just upgrade the video card, not by much just up a couple steps i still want to save the real money for the dx10 vista whatever system.
October 11, 200619 yr To enable the shader 2 for FX5600 card go to the file display.cfg in the main FSX folder scroll down 'til you find the card (NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 #13068) then change this line Shader20Plus=0 to Shader20Plus=1 and save (Possibly backing up the oringinal display.cfg first!)This will give you really terrible fps especially if you set water details to 2x (But it's worth doing just to see the reflections)I thought about a new card, the fx6200 allows shader2 and is quite cheap, but I'm now going down the new system route with a relativly cheap card with the plan to upgrade to Vista and DX10 about a year later.Chris
