December 24, 20196 yr I`m not sure if this is the place to post this. Sorry if it isn`t. . . and Merry Christmas and happy holidays. I was kinda bored so I installed Orbiter 2016 (which is still an aviation "hard core" simulator in some ways). I also downloaded the Hi Res Texture Set for (Earth) as well @ (32GB. . .Ouch!), plus the D3D9 Client (exe.). I set it all up in 4K with everything maxed. When I got to Orbit, after a few fails, I just about fell out of my chair. The visuals were so stunning I thought I was really in space. The Atlantis Orbiter (Shutte STS-101) is all redesigned and is a real work of art. The flight model and space physics are unmatched for a space sim. Coupled with the new dynamic lighting and shadow programming, I wondered how I stayed away from this unbelievable space sim for so long. Nice to see it didn`t die and still lives on by Dr Martin Schweiger and a renewed and burgeoning community with compatible SpaceX add-ons available now and coming down the pipeline. I must warn you though. It is a time killer and very addictive if you have any interest in the aerospace industry. By the way, the screen shots on the site don`t do it justice. The Hi Res Files (Use the Europe link), under downloads, will blow you away. And it is all Free! http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/ Follow this tutorial to install correctly, Edited December 24, 20196 yr by Ezra Added Link
