Always windowed Configuration Panel GTN750

Featured Replies

I have a small but tedious problem: the Configuration Panel opened via plugins menu is always windowed, it is no inside my full screen XPlane.
Is this always so or can I change it? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Fabio,

I'm not sure to understand what you're looking for?!

Do you mean it is a standalone regular Windows window (with a Windows titlebar)? If so, this is a standard X-Plane 'pop out' window and you just have to unselect this mode in the RXP GTN menu.

Hi Jean-Luc,

thanks for your replay. I am meaning the window of the Configuration Panel. This is opened always as external windows, outside of my full screen XPlane.
Is this normal? Or is it possible to have the Configuration Panel in the XPlane full screen?

In the image above you can see what I am getting right now: a separate window.

Hi,

Yes this is normal and implemented this way.

Is this causing any particular problem?

No, it would have been only more easy to operate in the same full screen, instead of having a separate windowed setting panel.
Thanks.

I understand.

There are sometimes limitations which are driving our implementation. In this case, we've chosen to make the Config Settings GUI in a separate window for example because:

  • There are a few limitations in the X-Plane SDK for which we didn't want investing in a workaround (see next point)
  • X-Plane display engine is a moving target and we're not sure what Vulkan will further allow or prevent implementing in terms of plugin-controlled windows.
  • We strive for bringing near same experience whether you're flying with X-Plane or FltSim.

It is not perfect but not carved in stone either, and I do prefer it to be in-sim as well.
