January 12, 20206 yr Hi! My version is P3D V4 and I recently flew to EHAM with vPilot. I don't have an Mega Airport add-on etc. there, just a default map from P3D. Once landed, I received instructions from the ATC (vPilot) to taxi to stand C14. While taxiing, I opened GSX and couldn't find the gate. I informed the controller, who next gave me the C10. When I approached the C10, I got confused. The C10, shown by the GSX, looked more likely a C16 from the Navigraph Charts, but I know it's the C10, because I clicked it from the GSX list and I saw my GSX ground crew there waiting for me. I informed the controller, again, and asked for the C8, where I ended up. The C8 also seems to be a C10 in the Charts, but the controller explained, that nothing has changed in the maps for several years and it's more likely a fault in my system. I thank the controller, who remained calm, while I was messing up 😄 It's really annoying to know that the gate I'm approaching, which looks right to me, is completely wrong one in the controller's radar. So what's happening? Can someone explain? How should I act in the situations like this? Should I just buy all the Mega Airport packs where I fly (not the first option for my wallet)? I took a screenshot from the stand, but I didn't know how to attach it to this post, but I can email it if necessary. Regards, Antton
January 12, 20206 yr The default scenery definitely doesn't match current gate assignment. Sometimes entire terminals are entirely missing or in the wrong place. The scenery is just too old or was never correct in the first place. Addons can help, but aren't always up to date either. You can download AFCAD files that have updated gate assignments. This will normally help with taxiways too as they can be incorrect. Even runways from time to time.
January 19, 20206 yr Author I was looking for the AFCAD files from the avsim library, but couldn't find the AFCAD files for P3D, for FSX there was some files of EHAM. Could it work, if I download the FSX files and install them to the addon scenery folders? Edited January 19, 20206 yr by Antton
