FSX screen request.

Hi,Just out of curiousity,..could someone please post a small framerate screenie, with the 2D panel from any of the commercial airliners with the sliders set to full left , middle and full right. For example at Heathrow active runway. I am also particular interested in how the same aircraft external nightlighs looks.Your system specs would also be great. :-)http://www.scandicair.com/images/sa_banner.gifFSX..:-hmmm...nah.. Still happy without it!! :-hahMy specs are:Dell Dimension 4600 P4/2.8 at 3.0 Ghz1024 Mb DDR333 Dual channel memory (2x256,1x512)AGP 256 Mb ATI Radeon X850 Pro ViVo, flashed to a X850 XT PE. Anyone ?I am sure there are many 2D panel airliner simmers out there like me, who are very curious about this request.Give us some evidence that FSX didn

It works well with 2D panels..in fact maybe better than with VCs..I would say, after early initial testing.I am not at home right now or I would post some screens.FPS at Heathrow, will not be good. I am just warning you. I flew from EHAM to Heathr the other day and fps were great until I got near Heathrow. Probably there are tweaks to be done in texture sizes, etc. and probably I could have moved some sliders left too...still experimenting.RhettAMD 3700+, eVGA 7800GT 256, ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, etc. etc.

All right Staffan. This is not quite what you requested but I forgot...anyway here is Heathrow 27L, Cessna 182, 100% airliner AI, and some sliders right. This is WITH Matt Fox's autogen file. You have a pretty FPS punishing request at EGLL. My system specs are in the sig:RhettAMD 3700+, eVGA 7800GT 256, ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, etc. etc.

Thanks Rhett,Quite helpful anyway. Do you find the 2D glass panels more framerate hungry? If so,..how much framerateloss? With your system, do you hit the 30 fps often?http://www.scandicair.com/images/sa_banner.gifFSX..:-hmmm...nah.. >Thanks Rhett,>I am glad you could view my pics. I resized them kind of small so I hope the graphic settings screens were readable for you.>Quite helpful anyway. Do you find the 2D glass panels more>framerate hungry? If so,..how much framerateloss?>Very little, if any frame rate loss with the 2D panels on my system. That has actually been a pleasant surprise.>With your system, do you hit the 30 fps often?>With the settings I posted above, my system will hit 30 fps at altitude (i.e. above 10000 feet+) in a non-urban area. It will also easily do it over the water. Even with the tweaks, the Autogen kills fps. That is the #1 killer. And the buildings especially. My next task will be to disable or greatly reduce the building autogen while keeping the trees at extremely dense. Maybe that will help fps near cities. ??I flew away from heathrow in the A321, at low level, and fps went from about 13-15 to 21-24, as I went northwest away from London. It gradually increased. This range seems to be more realistic of what a system like mine will produce, in a mixed-to-fairly-urban area like England. As I flew off the coast, it went from 21-24 to 30 (lock) fairly quickly as the autogen receded below me. .KLAX framerates were similar to Heathrows. Sorry I did not fly out of Arlanda yet. :)Keep in mind, I am using Matt Fox's autogen file. For my system, it helped things immensely. Without his file, forget EGLL on my system (6-10 fps). ***I highly recommend*** you get M. Fox's autogen file if you get FSX. I don't consider my system to be super-fast, but...I did build it to exacting specs, specs that I gained HERE at AVSIM from all of you FS hardware techs. So it's pretty optimized and solid for FS. Built for FS. I am happy that the computer is able to handle FSX decently.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2.5 ghz), eVGA 7800GT 256, ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, etc. etc.

where can i get Matt Fox's autogen file. I dont see it in the file library when i search for Matt Fox.

It's not in the library. It's in a thread he posted (you can search for the thread or look, it's only a few days old). It's also on his site:http://www.fox-fam.com/wordpress/?page_id=41There's still a lot of tweaking to do, as last night I turned off autogen, and I was getting fps pegged at the framelock of 30 the whole time. Turn on autogen, even at the lowest slide setting, and it cuts fps by about 40%. *40%*!! To me, that is not right. Something must be wrong. Yes, it's more dense here--but 40%??? Autogen never did this in previous two versions. Perhaps I should adjust the cfg tweaks to make the autogen density = to FS9's autogen density, and see if it's similar. But I recall no major performance hit with autogen in FS2002 or FS2004.RhettAMD 3700+, eVGA 7800GT 256, ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, etc. etc.

thanks for the link. yeh i think reducing the amount of autogen per area makes a sizable difference. From what i have read, low level of autogen is equal to the max autogen on FS2004. So a performance hit is likely when so much more autogen available.i just bought fsx today so will try it at home and see what its like in the cities.

>Thanks Rhett,>>Quite helpful anyway. Do you find the 2D glass panels more>framerate hungry? If so,..how much framerateloss?>oh, the GLASS panels you say. Sorry, I missed that the other day. I have only briefly flown the glass-cockpit Baron. But I did not notice the glass slowing it down any.The panels are pretty good at not bogging down the sim. The main problem is the autogen.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2.5 ghz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (94.47), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian
