Possible "Heading Bug" mod?

Hello!

Since I use now a Saitek FIP with a nice VOR gauge I wondered if it is possible to mod the DC6 in a way that I can set the heading via the VOR gauge heading bug instead of chasing the heading with the standard DC6 autopilot?

I know, it is not historic and accurate... but it would be nice to have this mod if possible...
