Hi Guys,I don't speak for everyone (obviously) but I'm having a heck of a time trying to find all the fixes and tweaks out there for FSX. I've not been tickled with the sim so far, but hopefully things can be hammered out.So if you have a tweak/fix/tip, post it here. Here's my submission (not my ideas but stuff I have found)#1: It appears that you pretty much HAVE to Have 2 Gigs of RAM. From what I'm told, folks with high end systems will see a major difference, and folks with middle class systems will see moderate gains.#2: The autogen tweak: Look up your FSX.CFG file (easy way is to hit search, files and folders, and enter FSX.CFG Should pull right up)Under [TERRAIN] add these two lines:TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=2000 TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CELL=3000These allows you to independently control autogen density, instead of both being affected by a single slider.#3: Under [MAIN] add FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.33Not sure what this does but I saw a major difference in FPS. #4: Set water to 2.x lowDecent looking water that doesn't drop FPS to snail speeds.That's all I have for now that I would think of as global tweaks. Hope we get some good stuff on here to help everybody!
