October 13, 200619 yr I have just received the UK Deluxe Edition.I have an Iomega External USB DVD drive which requires a software eject to clear the cache so that the new DVD contents are read. If there is no soft eject then the contents are that of the last disk.the FSX installer appears to disable the soft eject. At the end of disk one I cannot soft eject it. Therefore I cannot get disk two read and I am stuck. I cancel the install at that point and after the rollback the DVD drive soft ejects. So right now I'm stuck :( Just curious as to whether the disable of soft eject is intentional or just bad luck....... Jon ------- Microsoft Flight Sim MVP Airport Design Editor FSDeveloper.com
October 13, 200619 yr I thought I read somewhere that you can copy the contents of the DVDs onto your harddrive and then run the installer from there. If you have the space to spare you could try this?
October 13, 200619 yr Author JanneThanks I am trying to do that as I type - fortunately I have two large hard drives :-) Jon ------- Microsoft Flight Sim MVP Airport Design Editor FSDeveloper.com
October 13, 200619 yr I did exactly that, saves a lot of time having the installer on a hard drive installing to another hard drive, rather than reading a DVD, but it won't save anything if it's just on a partition.Allcott
October 13, 200619 yr Author Thanks - nice to know it should work - I am copying it to a separate physical drive to the one I want to install on Jon ------- Microsoft Flight Sim MVP Airport Design Editor FSDeveloper.com
