Hi,

After a reinstall of windows I have had trouble installing PFE2xp. I use the installer and direct it to my xp .exe as requested but when I direct it to the PF3 .exe location it states that I need the 3rd party atc PF3 for the plugin to work and the cancels the install. I have also noticed that the registration text file has no information in it and the .ini file shows no location of the PF3 folder? Any ideas on what to do next?

TIA

Jay.

When installer prompts for X-Plane installation, browse for "X-Plane.exe"

Then set "X-Plane.exe" to run as admin.

Also set "pf3.exe" to run as admin.

Normally, plugin automatically detects PF3 installation.

If the latter wasn't installed and rather retrieved from another drive, the plugin will prompt for "PF3.exe"

Once it knows about pf3.exe location, it can work out settings, including flight plan, hotkeys to use etc...

You need to run X-Plane at least once, before machine ID is automatically written to "Registration.txt"

Thanks for the prompt reply. I have set both programs to run as admin and the plugin knows the location of X-Plane I then point it to the PF3 location when it asks for the PF3.exe and as soon as I click it the installer notifies me that I need the PF3 program and it won't load until it knows the path to that program? I only have 1 install of PF3 on my c drive.

Go to \X-Plane\Resources\Plugins\PFEtoXPlane\ folder

Open "PFEtoXplane.cfg". Make sure it looks like this

IgnorePFERegistryPath=1
PFEpath=

Save and restart X-Plane.

Plugin should prompt for "pf3.exe". Just browse to the location on C dive and path will be automaticallyu saved for next sessions.

Hi,

The config file is exactly as you have shown and I have done exactly what you advised but it will still not accept that the PF3 .exe file exists, I get the prompt for pf3 .exe and it opens up the exact folder where it is stored, I click ont .exe file and again it states that -"PFE2XP plugin requires 3rd party PFE atc program it wont load until it knows the path to that program"-. I am at a loss as to what could be wrong. I completely reinstalled PF3 onto a different drive and it fires up normally so there is nothing wrong with the install but obviously it wont connect until the plugin recognises it. Thanks for your continued support 😉

All sorted, Gerald sent me a fresh copy of the plugin and it installed as it should, the fix was to completely uninstall PF3 and do a fresh install then updates. Many thanks for the top notch support, even answering e-mails way outside normal hours, great service. May have a look at MCE now! 😉
