Random FSX:SE CTD

Featured Replies

Hello! I've just started getting into Flight simming, but my FSX seems to randomly crash from 5 - 45 minutes into my flight and I really have no idea why. I thought it might be a memory issue as I only have 8gb, but I monitored my RAM usage during the most recent CTD and it was under 5GB. It might still be a memory issue, but I had plenty of space left in the RAM.d

I looked around differnet forums and I have been unable to find a solution to the problem. I've analysed the .mdmp file that gets created but I'm really not sure what to make of it.

The crashes always happen in the air, and sometimes when using a menu.

My PC Specs are:

  • i5 6600k @ 3.9GHz
  • AMD RX470 4GB GPU
  • 8GB DDR4 Ram at 2400MHz

Also, in the absence of a joystick and throttle, I'm using a PS4 controller for some controls, using steams controller emulator system-thing (so the controller is recognised as an XBOX controller).

I've stuck the later .mdmp file analysis below. There are more of these crash reports but they look just about the same.

Thanks for any help! 🙂
