2D Panels

Featured Replies

HI All, I got my copy of FSX this morning and have had a few hours to play around with it. It would appear that the inital reports of poor frame rates are correct on my machine unless i pull some of the sliders back mainly auto gen. Then i sit quite happily at 20FPS. What i am most disappointed in though is the standard of the Def aircraft. I know what people will say..... "Never fly them...... always use addons..." but at present that's all there is. What s going on withe the POOR Virtual Cockpits! And where did the 2D panel go?. I have looked at the menus and ticked the option for 2D panel but i still get that crappy looking VC. I cannot even see half of the switches! There all blurred out!!! Has anyone yet found out how to start with a conventional 2D panel with buttons and screen you can actually read?

Tech Spec: Intel I7 6700k @ 4ghz / ASUS Z190Pro / Nvidia GeoForce GTX 1080 4095mb / Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000 / 3 x Samsung SSD 1TB  Windows 10 64bit

The panels are fine, including the VC. No blurring at all. To start with a 2D panel, go to OptionsSettingsDisplayAircraft abd check the box called 2D Instrument Panel. Also, be sure that the Global Texture Resolution is set to Very High (OptionsSettingsDisplay) to take care of the blurried VC.Doug

Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. Klaatu barada nickto.

And do as I discovered about 30 minutes ago - press spacebar and roll mouse wheel simultaneously (when in virtual cockpit) to zoom out to about 0.40 zoom and the virtual cockpits look amazingly high res plus you get a broader view of the instrument panels.T :-)
