RXP GTN 650 makes XPlane slow down (resolved)

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I downloaded this product as this is the same GPS as I use in real aircraft.

My xPlane 11 Windows 10 simulator exceeds the specs required for xPlane.  My sim works beautifully UNTIL I open the 650, at which point it slows down to an unusable state to the point where I need to restart the sim WITHOUT the 650 in order to make it function again.

Any suggestions on settings, etc that I can change to fix this?  I have decreased my graphics and other sim settings, but didn't help.

I have tried everything in my knowledge bank (including reading the manual).  I need this resolved quickly as it was purchased Mar 22 and I will be requesting a refund if I can't get it resolved.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Are you using any kind of 'process enhancement' tool like 'Process Lasso'?

Otherwise, we're preparing the release of an update which will help some of you having a perceived (and real) slower GTN screen refresh rate than expected. We'll continue this support question once it is released and you install it.

Hi there, thanks for the reply.

I am not running any enhancement tools, just the stock Dell XPS system.

I was wondering if perhaps there were any files hiding somewhere I should be checking that may be causing issues? I noticed RealityXP put .ini files all over the place in the XPlane folder and I was wondering if there was anything I should be checking in that regard?

Is there a log file or something I can send along?  When do you expect the release of the update?

All answers about any RXP .ini file is in the RXP GTN User's Manual!

As for the release, it will be tomorrow morning (EST) because it is a little too late right now and there are a few more validation flight tests.

I installed the new update and it has seemingly solved the issues.  It runs much better.  Thanks!
