Tower Control offine?

Featured Replies

Is there a way to use Tower Control offline? Just sitting in the Tower an watching what's going on. Watch planes parking, starting and landing and listen to the ATC? Is that possible? May sound boring for some though.

Not for AI traffic. You need to be connnect to a M/P Server.

With the following you can but it doesn't come out until 2007.http://www.justflight.com/newsDetail.asp?newsid=228Maybe someone can already do something to make this work ?

Oh, that's gonna be what I'm looking for! So long...

Actually you can, or at least I believe I found a way.I was trying to host an online session over the weekend but was having all sorts of problem with my router and ports. While I was setting up the session I saved the flight. Now, when I returned having messed about with my router further I set my "host a session", flicked the role onto Controller, then loaded the saved flight. FS went stright in to the game and to my surprise I started to see aircraft movements on the radar screen, and a couple of ground aircraft. These were AI. I'll check again tonight when I get home but I'm pretty sure it worked.

Cool, I'll try this too tonite! For FS2004 i used Traffic 2005. With this addon you can choose the Tower as an Airplane. For sure you can't move (excet slew), but have great view from the tower. Is it maybe possible to convert the Tower from the Online Version to a "normal airplane"?Thanks

I tried to join a multiplayer session as a controller, but then got an "host disconnected" error- but I was able to stay in the tower, and watch the AI.You can't control them, but you can click on the radar functions, and switch views to different stations. It was pretty cool actually! I think they should make that a screensaver option....

I can confirm that you CAN use tower control with AI. You can give any instructions of course, but it will give you good spotting choices.Intructions:Go into multiplayer, login.Host session.Set yourself as Air Traffic Control.Chose the situation and SAVE ITNow go to load flight and just double click the saves flight. The sim now fires straight up with you in the tower.Of course make sure you have your AI turned on lol :)

Just wait till this addond will be out then it's gonan be cool directing all those planes lol

Hi Cell. I did that and I did not see any AI traffic at KLAX from the tower. I exited and went to KLAX and all the traffic was there. I use FS2004 UT traffic. Is it possible that it only works with the default traffic, which I have turned off? Are you using the default FSX traffic file? Thanks, regards, Bob.

Check out this thread.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=121&topic_id=363666&mesg_id=363666&page=16

I wonder if there's a way to do this without having to multi and then save? The Control Tower seems to be in the Misc folder under Simobjects. I changed the cfg file so that it read airplane rather than sim in the hope that it would work. Unfortunately, although it then shows up in the airplance choice section of the main FSX screen, if you choose it (or, at least, when I chose it) it returned an invalid memory error and crashed to desktop! Maybe there is someone more inventive than I who may be able to take this a stage further?

Hi. I tried it again and now it works! I am using FS2004 Ultimate Traffic. This is like the Mobile Control Tower which I also use in FSX. Thanks, best regards, Bob.
