Hello Everyone,

 

I'm considering getting a Gatwick scenery for P3D v4, as I now have multiple aircraft that are operated with sizeable bases at Gatwick. I am aware that there are two sceneries for Gatwick, UK2000 and Jennasoft. I have read some reviews and thoughts on the scenery soon after it was released around half a year ago. I was wondering the state of it now vs UK2000. Here's how I see it, please correct me if you think else! Lastly, Ideally, I'd be able to convert to either P3Dv5 or the new MSFS, but this can obviously be very difficult to predict.

UK2000

+Solid support from Gary, pretty bug free

- Outdated, old and graphically quite dated.

 

Jennasoft

+Graphically very pretty, use of PBR

-Some taxiways look odd, grass is also a bit odd

-AFCAD layout is wrong and stand numbers are off

-Bit buggy with things like dynamic lighting.

 

I also remember someone saying that there is a new AFCAD in the works. I currently use the freeware UK2000 version for P3Dv4 with about half the detail of the standard UK2K, so I'm pretty sure anything will be better.

I'd wait to see whether UK2000 does an HD update to Gatwick or not.

I have both developers' scenery. While the Jennasoft one is more modern, there are some issues (dynamic lighting performance, lack of VGDS, other texture issues) that still remain unresolved.
