November 26, 200520 yr I've been reading an interesting magazine called Pilot Getaways that comes out bimonthly (used to be quarterly). Each issue covers several destinations covering the airport there, attractions, hotels, and transportation; it also includes other articles covering topics concerning private air travel. It sells in Barnes & Noble's stores for US$4.95/CA$5.95, though you may find it in other book stores.I've been using some of the destinations in the magazine as inspiration for flight sim flights lately. The September/October 2005 issue for example focused on White Sands, New Mexico (ALM); Santa Monica, California (SMO); Columbus, Ohio (OSU); Bar Harbor, Maine (BHB); Astoria, Oregon (AST); Dolores Point, Colorado (No identifier); and an article on Jack Brown's Seaplane Base in Winter Haven, Florida (GIF).----------------------------------------------------------------John MorganReal World: KGEG, UND Aerospace Spokane Satillite, Private ASEL 141.2 hrs, 314 landings, 46 inst. apprs.Virtual: MSFS 2004"There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have. No matter what the name of the country on whose land it lies, an airport is a place you can see and touch that leads to a reality that can only be thought and felt." - The Bridge Across Forever: A Love Story by Richard Bach John Morgan "There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have.
