May 11, 20206 yr So far, no go with this. Per the instructions, I have placed "rxpGPSAnnun" here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Reality XP\Gauges\GPS Annunciation The created "add-on.xml" is here: C:\Users\snp9c\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Reality XP Gauges [I had to create this folder as it did not exist?] I have edited the panel.cfg as follows (copied entries down to the relevant ones): Spoiler // This Panel.cfg file created by FS Panel Studio panel editor utility - http://www.fspanelstudio.com // Built Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 13:11 FSPS Build:22767 // GTN750_650 [Window Titles] Window00=Main Panel Window01=Throttle Window02=C310 Prelight Window03=Reality XP GTN Unit 1 (managed) Window04=TAWS WAAS Annunciation Control Units Window05=Reality XP GTN Unit 2 (managed) [VIEWS] VIEW_FORWARD_WINDOWS=MAIN_PANEL,THROTTLE_PANEL,GPS_PANEL VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=10.000, 0.000, 0.000 //-------------------------------------------------------- [Window00] Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=1680,1050 window_size_ratio=1.000 position=7 visible=1 ident=0 window_size= 1.000, 1.000 window_pos= 0.000, 0.000 //-------------------------------------------------------- [Window01] Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=296,547 window_size_ratio=1.000 position=8 visible=0 ident=10030 window_size= 0.176, 0.514 window_pos= 0.834, 0.486 zorder=2 gauge00=C310_XMLGauges!C310_ThrottleQuad, 0,0,286,547 //-------------------------------------------------------- [Window02] Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=500,243 window_size_ratio=1.000 position=0 visible=0 ident=70 window_size= 0.400, 0.324 window_pos= 0.000, 0.040 gauge00=C310_XMLGauges!C310_Preflight, 0,0,500,243 //-------------------------------------------------------- [Window03] Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=100,100 window_size_ratio=1.000 position=7 visible=1 ident=15751 window_size=0.162109,0.286855 window_pos=0.000000,0.000000 zorder=99 always_visible=1 gauge01=rxpGTN!GTN_750_1, 0, 0,100,100 //-------------------------------------------------------- [Window04] Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=170,80 window_size_ratio=1.000 position=3 visible=0 ident=60 window_size= 0.125, 0.112 window_pos= 0.000, 0.430 gauge00=rxpGpsAnnun!TAWS, 0,0,170,40 gauge01=rxpGpsAnnun!WAAS, 0,40,170,40 Although the sim asks me if I want to install the add-on during load, I don't have any menu option to place these new gauges - and obviously they aren't visible. Help is appreciated! Edited May 11, 20206 yr by RXP ATP BE300 BE400 CE500 CE560XL DA20 MU300
May 11, 20206 yr Hi, You don't have to create a new add-on.xml. Both the GNS V2 and the GTN respective add-on.xml files should already have the reference to these gauges like this: <AddOn.Component> <Category>Gauges</Category> <Name>Reality XP GPS Annunciation</Name> <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\Reality XP\Gauges\GPS Annunciation</Path> </AddOn.Component> NB: You can also remove window_size because you're using size_mm. In your panel.cfg [Window04], visible = 0 This means the window is initially hidden and you have to toggle it. Did you try toggling this instrument view? In the P3D user's manual: Some Prepar3D aircraft have separate windows or subpanels for their radio stacks, compass, engine controls, and other cockpit controls. Use SHIFT+1-7 to display the various subpanels (see the list of key commands for each aircraft on the kneeboard in the cockpit)..
May 11, 20206 yr Author I seem to have gotten it working, now. Thank you. I was just following the addendum n the GPS Annunciation Gauges which called for the creation of a 'new' add-on.xml file. Obviously I need a better understanding of P3D functionality. ATP BE300 BE400 CE500 CE560XL DA20 MU300
May 11, 20206 yr I see your point. On one hand the RXP GTN User's Manual p7 is saying "ready-to-use with the pre-installed add-on.xml". On the other hand the readme.rtf explains how to create a new add-on.xml specifically for it.
