Hello all,

I've added the RXP GTN650 to my home fsx sim - very nice!

I know that with the 650 and 750, the CDI source is selected on the Default Nav page, but I know that real GTN's can have a remote push button on the instrument panel switch the CDI as well.  In fsx, there is an assignable switch that does the same for the older GPS models.  When I send that command to the RXP GTN650, the CDI switches for just a second, then switches back.  Is there a different way to remotely switch the RXP GTN650 CDI that folks have found?  Is there a wish list someplace I could add this to, so that a future release might have this feature?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi,

Please make sure to read the RXP GTN User's Manual, it is all there!

Hint: 2 ways to do this, keyboard shortcuts and default Simulator GPS commands.

Very good!  Thank you.  The explicit GTN setup page made it easy to do what I'd wanted.

An additional question I've come up with, and I did not see it in the User Manual, is related to simulation outputs .. I looked through the simulation variables and did not find these, unless the "rxp.gps.discrete_out" could be used somehow?

Is there an output that indicates whether the GTN is in OBS vs direct mode?  I know we can control the mode from the sim, but if OBS mode is entered from the GTN Default NAV page, is there a simulation variable that indicates that?

Also, is there a simulation variable that indicates what the scale mode is?   i.e. ENR, TERM, LPV, etc?

Thanks,

Jim
