October 19, 200619 yr Hello all, I hope I'm posting this in the right area but my problem is that Im trying to get the VC views I have in FS9, When in VC I use my Num Pad to look around and when i release the key the veiw goes back to the front for example if i were to hold down the num pad #4 key I would look left, when released it would go back to the forward view in the cockpit, I cant seem to recreate this in FSX any help would be much appreciated. Thx for your time.
October 19, 200619 yr Hi Draccos, welcome to the forums.FSX does the view thing a bit different with lots of ways to alter SOME of the features:Yours is easy. Not a choice inside the sim but an edit of the new cameras.cfg. It resides in the same Documents and SettingsusernameApplications DataMicrosoftFSX as the FSX.cfg.If you are not familiar with the folder, it is hidden by default so you must tell windows so "show hidden files and folders" by selecting the C drive and selecting (from the menu) tools->folder options.Once you navigate to this folder, it's a good idea to make a link to to it so you can get to it quickly. You most assuredly will be here often. In the Cameras.cfg find the second section (for the VC) and note the marked entries. The default keypad setting is Swivel (panning). The default settings for the 2D just above is the 8-direction 'snap-view' that you indicate you want.Just edit the VC section to be Ordinal and True and you will have your 'quick view' back.[CameraDefinition.002]Title = Virtual CockpitGuid = {C95EAB58-9E4A-4E2A-A34C-D8D9D948F078}Description = This is the description of the virtual cockpit view.Origin = Virtual CockpitMomentumEffect = YesSnapPbhAdjust = Swivel // < < < - - - set to Ordinal to disable panningSnapPbhReturn = False // < < < - - - - set to True to snap-returnPanPbhAdjust = SwivelPanPbhReturn = FalseTrack = NoneHope this helpsLoyd Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro
October 19, 200619 yr I've changed the 2 settings in the Cameras.Cfg in the Main FSX folder but it's still not working. Do you have anymore ideas on how to change the views?
October 19, 200619 yr PossiblyYou are using a 2D cockpit. That is the way the keypad keys view in 2D cockpit, the view snaps back forward when you release the key. 3D cockpits will stay at the view when you release keypad key.good luckFlt300Z
