GTN 750 Plug in not working

Featured Replies

HI all,

I cannot get Xplane 11 to recognize my newly downloaded RealityXP GTN 750.  I have the GTN 650 in Xplane and that works but I have installed the 750 3 times and still cannot get it to come up on the Xplane plug in menu. I am trying to install the 750 using this program rxpGTN-XPL-Setup (located in C:RealityXP).  Xplane is located on the desktop and the setup program recognizes that but still nothing.  Any tips would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Norm

Hi,

You might want to check your anti-virus hasn't quarantined any 'rxp' file.

I'm also struggling with my newly downloaded RealityXP GTN 750 and when I enable "power on",  I get the error message "Can't load iop_b.dll" file. I guess the developers are well aware of the problem, many users have been confronted with this problem in the past.
I think it is not an anti-virus issue. (I have Comodo as anti-virus program)

1. I have no file in the quarantine.
2. the iop_b.dll.dll file got a special permission in Comodo.
3. the launcher program is running in administrator mode.
4. Windows 10 runs the program in WIN 8 compatibility mode (suggested by Microsoft)

Now I have no more ideas and I think the bug fixing is not the job of the users. The program seems to be quite outdated (installation location: "program files (x86)"). The (32 and 64 bit) launcher.dll's are from 2017) and possibly are not running properly in Win 10 64 bit.

@netwalker007 Hi,

You're making a number of false claims but I'm fine if your comfortable with these.

In short: the Garmin trainer is a Win10 supported program, installing in the expected Windows folder "Program Files (x86)", and trying to 'manually override' any default is prone to failure.

However, please note Comodo is wrongly interacting with the Garmin trainer, and therefore most likely with other programs too, and this has been documented in this forum. Forum search with "Comodo" is just one click away from this post...

Now, if you're not satisfied with the product I understand and I'd suggest you send me a PM to let me know.

Hi,

sorry for my presumptions. I couldn't (and can't) understand why my estimated hundred other applications run smoothly with Comodo, except Garmin Trainer.
I uninstalled Comodo and now the Trainer is running without any problems.
However, now I have to solve the PC protection problem, because I understandably don't want to use my PC without virus protection. The Windows Defender is not sufficient.
Thanks for your help.

Maybe there preventing this particular exe to run because it is signed with a competing certificate provider 😈

Only Comodo knows why because even Garmin doesn't seem to have any clue. Even just 'excluding' the trainer files is not sufficient.

What you should be wondering is if Comodo is preventing the trainer from running normally, what other programs or OS components are also prevented from running normally without you knowing about it...
