Fun project released: Lorby Tug Driver

Hello @ll,

I have decided to release a prototype of my "Lorby Tug Driver" app. With this addon you can drive a pushback tug around the airport and handle AI aircraft at the gates. You can attach a tow bar to their front gear, and when the time comes, push them out the gate, release the tow bar and wave them off.

Limitations:

  • Prepar3D V4 / V5 only!
  • the app currently works best with BGL based traffic, so it can read the departure time of a parked AI
  • the front gear of the pushed aircraft doesn't turn with the tow bar, it usually remains straight. That is just how it is.
  • sometimes the simulator may decide that you took to long, and just remove the aircraft
  • the AI may decide to taxi back into the stand, then out again.
  • don't push too fast! That may lead to weird reactions of the aircraft
  • the rear view mirror that you get when putting the tug in reverse will cost a lot of performance - it is flipped like the image in a mirror, and has to recalculate the view all the time. The app opens and closes that view automatically

The Lorby Tug Driver is available on the DOWNLOADS page of the Lorby-SI website, way down at the bottom. Please make sure to take a peek into the manual.
