let me just take this opportunity to whine--i have not been able to complete an online session once this past week! constant disconnects and loss of all controls. i can see the aircraft alright, but it does not react to keyboard or joystick commands. my broadband connection is rock stable in every other applicationhas anyone experienced similar behaviour?are there any magic tricks in the settings to make it work?ps. fshost, puhleeeze come quick! :-)

The FSX lobby is pretty much a mess - it's very hard to connect to sessions without getting some sort of funky error message. Once you DO manage to get onto a server, it's usually pretty good though.Regarding having no control over your plane, did you start in your OWN plane or did you choose "Join plane" from the user list in the briefing room? If you join someone else's plane, you won't be able to use the stick or engine controls. You are able to use the GPS, radios, flaps and other systems though. You can request control from the "pilot in command" by pressing SHIFT+T (or CTRL+T - I can never remember that one). The other person can then either give you the controls or not. If they do, you'll be able to fly the plane. If you start out in your own plane, you should have full control over it (unless you shared it, someone joined in and they start messing with the autopilot and flaps and whatnot, making it impossible to fly properly).

yup. i know i s h o u l d have control. that's why i'm whining :-) in other words, no, i'm joining somebody else's plane, but mine surely behaves as if i did. i have all the view controls--i can go spot or cockpit, zoom in or out, but i have no control over engine or control surfaces. pov is left seatmore observation brings me to a conclusion: servers with voice disabled are much more stable. in fact, i had no problems with those at all. only the talking ones are a mess. teamspeak times ahead?
