June 17, 20205 yr Just purchased the GTN 750 and it doesn't work, it shows a black screen, the popup however works just fine if i bring the second one from the plugin menu. Im on XP11.50 beta 9. I already have the latest trainer. Hi, There is nothing wrong in the log file except you're running the simulator as-admin and you shouldn't, unless you're willing to take the risk a bug in XP11 beta, or in a plugin, is wiping your hard drive clean... The GTN is showing in the popup window therefore it is working fine. Do you mean the 3D cockpit is showing a black rectangle where the screen is supposed to be displaying? If so, please review the following discussion: NB: it is a pinned topic with an unequivocal title to your problem and you might want to search the forum first for answers...

I wouldn't have posted here if I did not search the forums first and your quoted post didn't help. Your correct running as Admin isn't smart but be that as it may I have a degree in Cybersecurity Management and Policy and been working with computers since I was a child, I would know the risks and have had no problems.🤷♂️ Nevertheless I fixed the issues somehow by changing some settings in the plugin, and then enabling the pop out screen then enabling the first screen. Not exactly sure if it with the GTN's problem or the aircraft's problem as i did not have this issues with the GNS. Only happened on the GTN and it happened with multiple aircraft this occurred with the other aircraft that supports the GTN as well. (Carenado PC-12, Twin Otter, Default C172) Thanks for the help I guess 😄 , It working perfectly now! Edited June 18, 20205 yr by nosar77

It also causes an issue whenever the plugin/simulator is creating a new file because its ACL will be restricted to normal users the next time your run the simulator not as-admin. This makes me wondering as well, especially because you're reporting this with the XP11 beta (I supposed you're running VK enable as well?) and this might be useful we get more info at least to investigate any compatibility issue with our plugin, or, a bug in XP11. Since we're in close loops with the devs it is better now than later!
June 18, 20205 yr Author Yeah I remember when Windows 7 first came out UAC and file permissions was very annoying. I haven't has any issues with Admin/UAC or permissions in years, most likely how I set up my PC when I install windows 10, which I usually reinstall windows 10 like every 6 months just keep everything fresh and every now and then I switch to Linux just to remember how much I miss windows lol. I also make sure when following addons when installing making sure im running things as admin and such but I digress. Im not exactly sure on what caused the problem though. Again as it wasnt an issues with any of the GNS equipped aircraft. Edited June 18, 20205 yr by nosar77
