October 27, 200619 yr Comet Swan has been visible for some time but I only read about it in today's paper. It recently surged in brightness and in the northern hemisphere should be a naked eye object in the western sky after sunset. It is pumping out vast quantities of cyanogen (a form of cyanide) and apparently has a distinct greenish colour because of this. Naturally there's a lot of info about this comet on the Net - just Google for 'Comet Swan'.I've prepared a suitable bitmap to create a comet image with AutoStar. Here are some screenshots in FSX. As you can see, it looks very odd indeed. http://www.kline.demon.co.uk/as10.jpg http://www.kline.demon.co.uk/as11.jpg http://www.kline.demon.co.uk/as12.jpg The comet over Mt Fuji. http://www.kline.demon.co.uk/as13.jpg I plan to release a new version of AutoStar in a few weeks. Meanwhile you can get the current version here: http://www.kline.demon.co.uk/AutoStarX.zip Have fun and good comet hunting! Best regards, Chris
October 27, 200619 yr I personally think that it is not a comet at all, it is the vanguard of a Martian invasion, you watch, there'll be more of these green comets coming :-)Not to worry though, it's simply time to download an F-18 Hornet or fire up Jane's F/A 18 (those of you that have it) get some practice in, then head for Area 51 and join George W in the mother of all dogfights, before Randy Quaid does a Kamikaze into the mothership.I knew there was a reason the US had a president that could fly a jet fighter, and now we all know what it is.
