October 22, 200619 yr Hi, got my FSX running quite satisfactory, but there is still one problem and I cant solve it. The ground scenery only looks good a short distance from the plane, as you see on the picture, only a few miles out the ground looks washed out and blurred. I have seen several screenshots from other users and they dont seem to have the problem. Any suggestions?Resolution: 1024x768x32Filtering: BilinearGlobal texture resolution: Very HighAnti Aliasing: OnLevel of detail radius: HighMesh complexity: 70Mesh resolution: 5mTexture resolution 60cmWater effects: Low 2.xScenery complexity: DenseAutogen density: DenseSpecial effects detail: MediumI have Anti Aliasing x 4 set in my Gfx control panel.http://www.fcbarcelona.dk/fsx.jpgMB: Asus P5GD1P4E Prescott 3.4 GhzRadeon X800 XT 256 MB2GB Kingston DDR-SDRAM PC3200Maxtor SATA 300GB
October 22, 200619 yr How is Anisotropic Filtering set in your videocard control panel?Marco "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
October 22, 200619 yr Anisotropic Filtering is set on "Let the application decide"I can uncheck the box and select 2x - 4x - 8x - 16xCould that make a difference?
October 22, 200619 yr Wow, you were absolutely right Marco and Tabs. Thanks alot and have a very nice weekend.http://www.fcbarcelona.dk/fsx2.jpg

High settings may degrade performance, depending on the power of your video card.Marco "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
October 22, 200619 yr Commercial Member The bilinear filtering is the culprit - bilinear is an ancient filtering method. Set it to trilinear in the sim and then use your graphics card driver to apply at least 8X (preferably 16X) anisotropic filtering.http://www.tweakguides.com/Graphics_11.html here is an explanation of what texture filtering actually is.
