VC Views, can only pan up/down, not sideways

Featured Replies

Anybody know why in the VC I can only pan up or down, If i try to pan sideways using the hat switch or the keypad, it will move one notch but return to center after a split second. If i hold the hat switch sidways, the screen will alternate between center and one notch in that direction very very fast. It does seem to work in the 2d panel though. Please help, Thankyou!CaptainBSB

Nobody knows??????? :-bangPLEASE help!CaptainBSB

The hat switch is working in mine okay (Saitek 3D Force), not tried any of my other sticks with FSX though, so I'd guess it's a particular stick issue, but of course this being a new release, that may not be the case. I'd try reinstalling or updating your stick drivers if I were you, other than that, it's anybody's guess. One thing I will say is that I've found the mouse with space bar or shift O to be much more useable than the hat switch anyway (a lot smoother), so you might want to try that anyway. Although it does occasionally require some desktop gymnastics, which means I think I may actually have to stump up the cash for track IR, I've not got my E-Dimensional 3d stuff plugged in at the moment, but I might be tempted to check that out too and see what it's like, since flying totally from the VC is now pretty much a viable option.

Hi Cap'n,I had a curious occurrance similar to yours this evening: suddenly I only had normal left rudder and a "immediatly-self-centering" right rudder. Although I had some custom settings, I did try 'restore default settings", which did nothing. I cosidered re-calibrating but first I simply unhooked the usb stick; when I plugged it back in it functioned normally. Chances are equally good that had I just left it alone, the next time I turned the system on and started FSX, it would have been normal. If it happens again to you, you may want to try the unplugging "fix" first.Loyd

Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro
