FSX on external Hardrive

Featured Replies

I have not bought FSX yet but I was considering installing it on an external harddrive. I have FS9 installed on my main internal hardrive and have no intentions of removing it yet. I have spent 3 years building my FS9 with AI Traffic, addons, etc. and it is finally how I want it. So I have two questions, First is it ok to install FSX on an external Harddrive connected by USB? and Second is it going to affect my FS9? Thank you for any input you can give me.

I have FSX on an external drive (Seagate 160GB 7200 RPM) and it is working fine. Supposedly the USB transfer rate is lower than IDE but I have not found it a problem.Randall
