Importing FS9 Aircraft into FSX

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I have been trying to work out how to get some of my FS9 favorites into FSX. I tried a search, but came up with way too many posts to sort through within a reasonable amount of time, so I figured I would just ask. Many thanks in advance! :D

Hi Ryan, they install the same way they installed in FS9. The main difference is there is a new folder system, but you can create an Aircraft folder and point to it. Then you can install as normal.Edit your FSX.cfg file to add the following line under , at the end of the SimObjectsPaths list:SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjectsAirplanesSimObjectPaths.1=SimObjectsRotorcraftSimObjectPaths.2=SimObjectsGroundVehiclesSimObjectPaths.3=SimObjectsBoatsSimObjectPaths.4=SimObjectsAnimalsSimObjectPaths.5=SimObjectsMiscSimObjectPaths.6=AircraftThe main issues we are seeing is gauge problems and some texture issues. I suggest trying them out and then if you are having any issues, kindly email the author and let them know about them and see if they are willing to try and fix it. if not, move on or deal with it.As for payware, I would suggest NOT trying to install them unless you have a specific FSX install routine, they are under no obligation to help you fix a botched manual attempt to install a FS9 aircraft.Hope that helpsRegards, MichaelKDFW
