I love the shuttle. The white tanks were something too, they seemed to match the shuttle much better. They weren't so dandy for NASA though...

Progress, Growth at West Express
http://www.flywestexpress.com/postings/wxp_head.pngProgress, Growth at West Express[/font size]11 June 2007 -- LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIAAt a press conference this morning, members of the West Express board discussed the airline's performance after one month in the air, as well as expansion plans for the near term. The new upstart, which operates a fleet of Boeing 737 jets on select routes throughout the Western U.S. from it's Los Angeles hub, began service on 1 May of this year.http://www.flywestexpress.com/postings/b739_app.jpgCEO Scott Sherman seems very upbeat about the airline's progress to date and it's future. "We've been meeting or exceeding several key operational and marginal goals since May, providing us with a strong foundation to continue growth," he noted. "Our initial routes have proven to be very popular with our customers, and our frequent flier base has been steadly growing at a rate of about one new member per day since launch." ExpressMiles, the airline's unique frequent flier rewards program, was said to be one of West Express' key success gauges before launch. At the conference, the airline's vice president of operations, Carlos Perea, discussed short term expansion plans and goals for the remainder of 2007. "Our launch destinations have been very successful, with near 90% loads on the great majority of routes. We have been researching several new destinations from our hub at LAX, and plan to launch several new routes within the next month, such as Chicago and New York among others." He went on to explain, "Breaking into major business centers early will help us build brand recognition and further grow our frequent flier base."Perea also announced that West Express has sent out a request for proposals to the major aircraft manufacturers for 70 to 100 seat jets. He noted that the current favorites were the Brazilian Embraer 175 and the Bombardier CRJ-705 NextGen, but did not suggest when a decision would be made. Questions regarding service plans for these aircraft were refused."We are fortunate to have such a professional and successful airline. Great growth plans, great product," remarked Executive Vice President Steven Kimball. "We are in this for the long term."ABOUT WEST EXPRESSWest Express Airways, founded in 2003 and relaunched in May 2007, currently provides high-level service to several popular destinations from Los Angeles, CA. Welcome to the new West Express
http://www.flywestexpress.com/postings/wxp_head.pnghttp://www.flywestexpress.com/postings/739.pngWelcome to the new West Express, now officially operating. We're proud of our mission - providing a simple yet realistic airline, one without ridiculous policies and ranking systems. It is our number one goal to bring the fun back to the virtual skies. At West Express, you'll find friendly staff, a welcoming, easy-to-use website, and great opportunities to interact with fellow members.http://www.flywestexpress.com/postings/expressmiles.pngAs part of our goal of maintaining a simple, friendly environment, we don't rely on confusing ranks and aircraft classes to represent seniority. Rather, we have created the first fully-integrated virtual frequent flier program and completely elimated hours-based ranking. From the day you become a member, you'll have access to all of our regularly scheduled flights and our entire fleet. Freedom is a wonderful thing. But the good news doesn't stop there. ExpressMiles offers a points-based rewards system. Earn points for every eligible mile you fly with us and our partners, and redeem them for fun rewards. We always have great promotions going on to earn even more, and offer double points for all online flying on VATSIM.http://www.flywestexpress.com/postings/destinations.pngThe sky's a big place, but of course it's important to start out small. We're starting out with some select destinations from our main hub in sunny Los Angeles, California, throughout the western and midwestern United States. But don't worry, we have big plans and won't be stopping here.Albuquerque, NMDallas/Ft. Worth, TXDenver, COHonolulu, HIHouston, TXKahului (Maui), HILas Vegas, NVPhoenix, AZSalt Lake City, UTSan Diego, CASan Francisco, CASeattle, WATucscon, AZhttp://www.flywestexpress.com/postings/fleet.pngWe know you'll enjoy flying our new aircraft. The mainstay of our fleet is the Boeing 737, we operate both the -800 and -900ER variants. This versitale aircraft has provided reliable, fast, and comfortable transportation for over 40 years, and continues to do so. We also have a regional contract operating several Bombardier Q400 turboprops. Don't be fooled, that Q stands for Quiet and Quick.West Express has several outstanding 737 orders, as well as 20 orders for the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner.http://www.flywestexpress.com/postings/738.pngWelcome to a new era in virtual aviation. Come see why West Express is flying, the way it should be.

Vista slow sales....headline from Tom's Hardware today...
I'm running Vista (probably one of the only ones here) on a dual-boot with XP, too. Vista so far for me has been stable, no crashes, not eating up a whole lot of system resources, so I'm happy. I haven't booted to XP for a couple weeks now... People just need to give it time, the OS isn't very old, and we've come to expect problems from new products...Now many times I'll harp on how much I love OSX (still have my ancient 12" Powerbook), but I like to use my computer for gaming, and let's face it, Macs aren't the greatest for gaming (even with Bootcamp running Windows). But back on topic, pirates are definitely a huge problem... Go and do a search at any torrent site or P2P program and see how many results you get. There are 1,000s of people pirating Vista...But I will also admit that some of the things MS does drives customers away....My $0.02
